When I first found out I was pregnant with triplets, I was excited and terrified all at the same time. I knew my life was about to change in a BIG way! I immediately started doing research to find out everything I could about triplets. I wanted to know everything- the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful! While there is a lot of information out there, I was hard pressed to find any one specific site that offered all the information I wanted in one place, so I decided to take my simple blog and enhance it to include all kinds of information in hopes of some day helping others like myself.
The goals of Life With Triplets:
Participate! Throughout the site are many opportunities for you seasoned triplet moms and dads to submit your story or experience with particular subjects. The success of this site really depends on participation from many families. Everyone has a story to tell and there is someone out there that can relate to you and your story and be helped by it. You've been there in the shoes of the newly pregnant-with-multiples and scared - only you can help those who are there now!
Excuse Our Dust! Because we are in the beginning stages (and because I take care of a home with three toddlers, a fourth grader, a wonderful husband and work full time too), some areas are still under construction and more resources will be added regularly so keep checking back with us. Suggestions for content are welcome, just Contact Us.
In the meantime, thanks for sharing in our adventure... Life With Triplets!

Breast Cancer
Cancer doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care if you are old or young, male or female, black or white, gay or straight. Cancer is an evil life-sucking beast that no one deserves and yet millions are faced with. We all know someone who's had some form of cancer. For me, it was my Grandmother. She is a breast cancer survivor! It took a single mastectomy but she is still here today sharing her wisdom and wit. When I was just 20 years old, I myself had a scare with breast cancer. I found a lump and had it surgically removed, luckily to find that it was non-cancerous. But for the days I waited to find out it was terrifying. I can only imagine the fear and uncertainty that comes with actually being diagnosed.
In 2008 and 2009, I was going through a particularly rough emotional time in my life. I was having a righteous pity party for myself. Then one day in June I was driving along and heard a commercial on the radio for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day. And I thought to myself, "Here I am sulking over such insignificant problems when there are people out there battling for their life! I decided right then and there that I would walk in that 3-Day. 60 miles in 3-Days? Sure! I spent the next 4 months training and raising money for breast cancer. When it came time to do the actual walk, I just wasn't prepared for how it would affect me so emotionally. On the first night I visited the remembrance tent where they paid tribute to women and men who lost their battle with breast cancer. Many of them were my age. I cried for them- complete strangers. On the third day when my body wanted to just give up and sit down, a woman walked by me with a bald head because she was going through chemo and she encouraged ME to "Keep going! You can do it! Only 8 more miles!" What?! Absolutely inspiring.

I want to introduce you to a woman who recently was diagnosed with breast cancer: Kim Louis. Like so many she is young and it was a complete shock. Oh, and she has 4-yr-old triplets! How do you explain to three 4 year olds that Mommy has Cancer? I don't know if I would handle it with such grace as she does. Her blog is inspiring as she shares her struggles with having a mastectomy and being a chemo-patient all the while being a MoM. What strikes me the most is her constant prayer for OTHERS.
You can donate to the Louis Family Cancer Fund here: http://helpthelouisfamily.com or donate to the Susan G Komen For the Cure foundation here: http://ww5.komen.org/.
Cancer doesn't discriminate. Today it is Kim. Tomorrow it could be you or someone you love. Don't wait. Help while you can. Thanks. -Christina
