I was 33 and a half weeks pregnant, I had been on bed rest since 28 weeks. My husband Jason and I were getting ready to leave for a check up with the Dr. when my water broke. then when we were driving to the Dr. my water broke again, and again when we got to the hospital. They were all in separate sacks so it broke 3 times. After I got to the hospital, the nurses tried unsuccessfully to hook me up to the monitors. for what seemed like forever I was telling them to check me that the babys were coming, but it was probably only a few minutes. Then a doctor I knew came in and checked me because he heard me screaming and knew that I had done this before (I have 2 older children) so he checked me and said get her into surgery I have a baby right here!!! After that there was a lot of panic and running and I was on a flat cold table and was being told to count back from 100. My husband was left standing in the other room alone! The triplet that was in the birth canal was the one that they could not get on the monitors and she was in trouble, she was folded in half, so emergency c-section here we go. They were all delivered successfully, Baby A was the one on the bottom she stopped breathing but is just fine, and Babies B and C are both great!! They all 3 needed oxygen for a day or so, they were in the isolettes for a few days, Baby A (Ally)4 lbs Baby B (Linzy) 4 lbs 2oz, and Baby C (Emily) 3 lbs 7 oz. Ally had to have a bili-light for a couple of days, they all had to learn to suck and swallow, but all in all they did great. They were only in the special care nursery for 3 weeks. If you have not done this I encourage you to go and tour the special care nursery where you plan to deliver! It will help!
